The Ethics of Consent, Privacy, and Boundaries in Non-traditional Therapeutic Settings
Looking for some new and interesting activities for your therapy group? Join us to learn more about how including a horse in your group activities might benefit your clients. Come meet our horses and participate in a variety of group challenges so you can experience it for yourself. Afterwards, we will brainstorm how you might plan and implement interactive equine interventions for your therapeutic groups.
Conducting therapy sessions outside of an office setting has many benefits – and just as many ethical considerations. During this workshop, the horse herd at Cloud Dancers will give you first-hand experience with some of the benefits of working outside the office. We will then examine the ethical issues clinicians need to be familiar with as we strategize ways to create therapeutically beneficial out-of-office sessions for clients.
As clinicians, we are always looking for new ways to increase our therapeutic efficacy. Offering therapy sessions outside the office can help us do just that. Come join us to find out how!
During this interactive workshop, the horses will help us:
- Consider different types of beneficial out-of-office activities
- Understand more about ethical considerations when conducting sessions outside an office setting
- Experience firsthand two different approaches to out-of-office therapy – equine-assisted psychotherapy and adventure therapy
- Develop ways to ethically incorporate out-of-office experiences into your treatment plans
