Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy for Interactive Group Work

Looking for some new and interesting activities for your therapy group? Join us to learn more about how including a horse in your group activities might benefit your clients. Come meet our horses and participate in a variety of group challenges so you can experience it for yourself. Afterwards, we will brainstorm how you might plan and implement interactive equine interventions for your therapeutic groups.

During this interactive workshop the horses will help us:

  • Examine why horses are effective therapeutic partners
  • Understand more about how to effectively facilitate interactive equine-assisted group work
  • Experience firsthand several interactive group activities with our horse herd
  • Develop ways to plan, implement, and evaluate interactive challenges in your group planning

Our team will help you discover how your existing clinical skills can work in tandem with innovative equine-assisted counseling strategies to help individuals, families, and groups attain their goals. We will use a mixture of direct instruction, interactions with the horses, role-playing, and critical reflection to help you explore this new modality. By the end of the workshop, you will have a much better understanding of what it means to be a skilled clinician who can easily add equine-assisted interventions to your clinical tool bag for group work.
