Do you want to use your clinical skills in new and innovative ways? Are you curious about how interacting with horses can help your clients?

This intensive 8-hour workshop will help you do just that with the help of some unique teachers – the horse herd at Cloud Dancers Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Albuquerque, NM!

If you are an experienced clinician who wants to expand your knowledge of and experience with equine-assisted therapy, then this workshop is for you.

This hands-on experience will give you the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the history of and various approaches to equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP)
  • Explore the neuroscience that informs the effectiveness of therapeutic interactions with horses
  • Experience firsthand several different EAP activities

Our team will help you discover how your existing clinical skills can work in tandem with innovative equine-assisted counseling strategies to help individuals, families, and groups attain their goals. We will use a mixture of direct instruction, interactions with the horses, role-playing, and critical reflection to help you explore this new modality. By the end of the workshop, you will have a much better understanding of what it means to be a skilled clinician who can easily add equine-assisted interventions to your clinical tool bag.

Karen Molony, PATH Certified Instructor and PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning with a lifetime of experience with horses. She has been teaching at Cloud Dancers since 2006.
